The Benefits of Tapping

One of the most effective tools I’ve found for overcoming self-limiting beliefs is a technique called Tapping, also known as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

Tapping is a mind-body tool which involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points with your fingers to neutralise and disarm the fight or flight response in the nervous system. Our personal effectiveness is often affected by stress responses which are triggered by past emotional trauma and by self-limiting beliefs that often aren’t obvious on the surface.

Although most personal development books and courses suggest that success is achieved by focusing only on positive outcomes, many people find it hard to change their circumstances because they don’t know how to identify and break through negative thought and behavioural patterns. Tapping is a safe way to confront these negative emotions & beliefs and it’s an excellent tool for:

  • reducing stress;
  • diffusing anger;
  • dealing with strong negative emotions such as sadness; and
  • overcoming fears such as public speaking
